Çamurla tanışmam onsekiz sene önce Meercat Sanat Atölyesinde oldu. İlk denemelerimden sonra çamuru çok sevmiştim. Toprağın yaratma özelliğinden olsa gerek içimden annemin yüzünü yapma arzusu geldi. Bu çalışma benim ilk büst denememdi. Sonraki yıllarda Mara Gülerşen Seramik Atölyesinde seramik sanatı ve çamura olan tutkum artarak devam etti. Çamur bana içsel yolculuğumda, zaman zaman yol arkadaşı, zaman zaman da yol gösterici olarak eşlik etti. Bu yolda yarattığım karakterlerimin gerçek kimliklerini belirlemede önemli rol oynadığına inandığım malzeme olan bronzla Füge Demirok heykel atölyesinde tanıştım. Burada ruhumun rehberliğinde ellerim çamurla yaratmaya devam ediyor. Karakterlerimle kurduğum bu huzurlu dünyanın varlığı bana kuvvet veriyor. Çağdaş Amerikalı filozof Rollo May’in dediği gibi endişe ve kaygı çağı olan 21. Yüzyılda huzur ve dayanışmaya özlem duyarak, sizleri birbirine saygılı, hiyerarşinin olmadığı, özü ile bağlantıda, birlik ve beraberlik içinde yaşayan, gizemli karakterlerim ve onların dünyası ile tanışmaya davet ediyorum. My acquaintance with the mud happened eighteen years ago at the Meercat Art Workshop. After my first attempts, I liked the mud very much. Must be the creative nature of the soil, I had the desire to make my mother's face. This work was my first bust try. In the following years, my passion for ceramic art and mud continuously increased in Mara Gülerşen Ceramic Workshop. Mud accompanied me as a companion and guide in my inner journey. In the Füge Demirok’ sculpture workshop, I met bronze, the material that I believe plays an important role in determining the real identities of the characters I created on this path. Here, at the Demirok’s workshop, under the guidance of my soul, my hands continue to create with mud. The presence of this peaceful world that I built with my characters gives me strength and inspiration. As the contemporary American philosopher Rollo May said, in the 21st century, where we live in an age of anxiety, longing for peace and solidarity, I invite you to meet my mysterious characters and their world, respectful to each other, without hierarchy, living in connection with the essence, in unity and solidarity.
