The exhibition can be visited at Arnavutköy Art Gallery Istanbul on Mondays to Saturdays between 10 AM and 6 PM until June 29, 2024.

We invite art lovers to discover the works of Emine Bostancı and Emre Yüksel and to experience how the concepts of artificial and intelligence affect each other. The exhibition takes place in the four-storey historical building on the seaside of Arnavutköy Art Gallery Istanbul, as the first exhibition event opened by the artists in Istanbul.

Artificial or Intelligence?

Visual culture, which shines among the current practices of contemporary art, draws attention to the post-truth reality and simulation of reality, which determines the reality and post-truth dilemma of our century, which expresses a cultural environment in which visual images are widely used. In a sense, it points to a period when the real thing remained secondary. This brings into question the meaning of the relationships and interactions between visual culture and the concept of post-truth. Artificial? or Intelligence? The question of how these two concepts affect each other makes us think deeply. In this context, "Post-truth", which art wants to draw attention to, conceptually defines a situation where emotional effects and personal beliefs prevail over objective facts. This concept is closely related to visual culture because visual images can trigger emotional reactions and manipulate the perception of reality. Visual culture, especially visual images spread in social and current media, causes discussion of the concept of post-truth. Despite the rapid spread of unreal information and manipulative visuals and shaking the society's perception of reality, art aims to bring a pioneering interpretation and perspective to the philosophy and development of the period by examining the reality of the 21st century

.

Emre Yüksel also tends to examine and research the concepts of transhuman and posthuman, which are defined as the breakthrough and reality of the 21st century, and depicts the post-true universe he created in his visual memory in the living spaces he determined on his canvases.

Emine Bostancı's paintings with the concept of "We are in a Game" describe the world's perspective on life through children's games. In fact, these paintings explore the difficult stages of the life adventure that begins with birth, with a childish sensitivity, and illustrate them with ironic symbols. The puppets and dolls found in their growing areas, in closed spaces, among old objects, are indicators of coping or trying to cope with the troubles that may arise in their own world, excluding time and geography.
